Aleel (Kat) Grennan

Kat Grennan is a Senior Research Specialist at the Institute for Genomic Biology. She earned her B.S. in Biology at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and her Ph.D. in Plant Biology from the University of Illinois. Following her graduation, she worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Washington State University for two years. She then served as Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief of Plant Physiology for seven years before taking her current position on the PETROSS project. While with Plant Physiology, she wrote more than 20 feature pieces for the journal. 

Kat has a strong background in chloroplast biology and metabolic processes; her previous work includes determining the impact of low temperature and high light on the synthesis of chloroplast encoded proteins. Kat's research for PETROSS focuses on the regulation of key enzymes involved in chlorophyll biosynthesis.
